What constitutes “large”?
Standard hoverboards have a tire size of 6.5 inches. This size is okay for the smooth sidewalks and even pavement. But for surfaces such as gravel, grass or dirt, a tire size of 8.5 inches or more is highly recommended.

Do a pre-ride check of your scooter before every ride, make sure your scooter is good to go. make sure you read every section of your e-scooter manual carefully, and follow the TFBBS inspection (Tire, Folding, Brakes, Battery, and Scooter).
Make sure you are familiar with your scooter and its controls. Before riding, it’s important to familiarize yourself with your scooter. Make sure you know where the throttle, brakes, lights, and bell are.
step 1: Find an open area to start your practice
practice in some less stressful areas without having to worry about hills or other obstacles. This will allow you to give yourself enough time to get to know the basics. For your first time on the scooter, we recommend you to adopt a regular stance, which is placing your non-dominant foot (for most people, it’s your left foot) on the deck, your other foot remains on the ground during this step.
step 5: ride it like a standard kick scooter
Release the brake, try out your scooter as a standard kick scooter. This can give you a good sense of balance and steering. Make sure you don’t go too fast during this step and use your brake to be familiar with the basic function of your scooter.
step 6: Press the throttle steadily and slowly
Start to press your throttle with a slow smooth motion to get your electric scooter moving. You’ll typically have to get the scooter up to 5 km/h for the motor to engage. Once your motor kicks in, place your dominant foot on the deck behind your non-dominant foot. This will allow you to keep your balance and enhance your stability. Maintaining your electric scooter’s battery is key to optimizing your e-scooters performance, correct electric scooter battery maintenance is not hard at all. Please check the following for some advice on how to make your e-scooter battery last longer.
First things first, fully depleting your e-scooters battery can be harmful to your e-scooter and may reduce its performance. Instead, you should charge your battery at every opportunity you get. This is because each e-scooter battery comes with between 500 – 1000 charge cycles, depending on the manufacturer. A full charge cycle is from 100% to 0% then back to 100% charge level. Depending on your daily commute, you may be able to travel between destinations multiple times with only one charge. somehow we strongly recommend you to keep your electric scooter’s charge level at above 50% (if possible), to get the maximum battery life.
Electric scooter batteries come in many shapes and sizes, so do the chargers. Unfortunately, usable doesn’t always mean suitable. Each e-scooter battery will only be fully compatible with its designated charger, and even if it looks like it’s working, it may be charging improperly. Using the wrong charger may cause a malfunction of overcharging and undercharging protection module, in the long run, cause irreparable damage. Each UM-1 comes with an original charger from AnyHill, and you can always buy extra chargers if needed.
The ideal temperature for lithium batteries to operate is 80 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celcius). Due to the nature of these types of batteries, you will notice a significant decrease in range and performance if the temperature drops to 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celcius), or below. Store your scooter inside, especially during cold weather, extremely cold temperatures will reduce the capacity of the battery which will impact your riding range. On the other hand, extremely hot temperatures may affect the battery as well, therefore you should store it at room temperature, ideally between 68-77 degrees Fahrenheit (20-25 degrees Celcius) for battery longevity. Always charge in a cool, ventilated area. Avoid charging your electric scooter under direct sunlight.
If you are storing your eScooter for a while, please remember to charge your electric scooter to a certain charge level before storing it. It can be harmful to your lithium-ion battery either fully deplete or fully charged before long-term storage. We recommend you charge your e-scooter to 60% before storing it.
